In 1984, Gregg Giuffria, former keyboardist of the cult rock band Angel, formed a new band after Angel's breakup. Giuffria, along with vocalist David Glen Eisley, guitarist Craig Goldy, drummer Alan Krigger, and bassist Rick Bozzo, created demos that caught the attention of MCA-affiliated Camel Records. The band, initially called Legend, was later renamed Giuffria and released their self-titled debut album in 1984. The album was a success, thanks in part to the hit single "Call to the Heart," which drew comparisons to Journey. However, the band's success was short-lived due to internal conflicts and issues with their record label, MCA. The band members had different visions for their music, and the label's lack of support hindered their progress. Despite this, Giuffria released a second album, "Silk and Steel," in 1986, but it was not as successful as their debut. The band eventually broke up, and Giuffria went on to form a new band, House of Lords, with Gene Simmons' newly launched Simmons Records. The original members of Giuffria have fond memories of their time together, citing their experiences working with producer Andy Johns and the camaraderie they shared as bandmates. In 2014, some of the original members reunited for a one-off show at the Rockingham Festival in the UK.

The Trump administration has implemented a wide-ranging tariff plan, which has been dubbed "worse than the worst-case scenario." The tariffs, which affect international trade, have caused uncertainty and anxiety among consumers and businesses. The plan includes a 20% tariff on all imports into the US, with some countries facing higher rates. The tariffs are expected to increase prices for consumers, with some companies already announcing price hikes. A survey found that 38% of shoppers feel pressured to make purchases before tariffs make them more expensive. Experts warn that the tariffs could have the opposite effect of their intended purpose, keeping manufacturing out of the US and leaving consumers with inflated prices. The tariffs may also lead to job losses and hurt small businesses. The situation is complex, and the outcome is uncertain, with some predicting that the tariffs could raise revenue for the US, while others believe they will have a negative impact on the economy.

A recent rumor suggests that Sony is developing a portable version of the PS6, capable of running PS5 games without needing special patches from developers. The PS6 Portable is said to have shader binary compatibility, allowing it to play PS5 games, but its performance may be affected. The console is rumored to be less powerful than the base PS5 but more powerful than the Xbox Series S. The system-on-chip (SoC) is designed by AMD and runs at lower voltages. However, it's essential to note that these are just rumors, and there's no official confirmation from Sony. The PS6 generation is still likely a few years away, and it's unclear if the portable console will be released alongside a home version.

New tariffs on imports from China may lead to price increases for electronics, including iPhones. Despite a temporary reprieve, experts warn that prices will likely rise after companies sell out of their current inventory. The full 145% tariff could increase the price of an iPhone 16 Pro Max from $1,599 to over $3,900, while a 20% tariff could increase the price to over $1,900. To save money, consider buying last year's model or a used device, and trade in or sell your old device to offset the cost. Experts also advise against panic-buying and financing purchases with credit cards, as interest rates can quickly wipe out any savings. Apple has started to move some of its manufacturing to other countries, including India and Vietnam, but most iPhones are still made in China. The tariffs may also affect other electronics, such as laptops, TVs, and kitchen appliances. Companies like Best Buy and Target have warned consumers to expect higher prices, and some brands like Acer and Anker have already raised their prices in response to the tariffs.

GameStop is offering a limited-time trade-in deal for the Xbox Series X, giving customers "up to" $420.69 in store credit. The deal requires a Pro membership, which costs $25 a year, and is only valid for store credit. The promotion is likely a marketing stunt, as GameStop is running low on used Xbox Series X units and can still sell them for a high price. Some customers have already taken advantage of the deal, which may be attractive to those looking to sell their console amid boycotts and Microsoft's decision to bring exclusive games to other platforms. The deal runs through April 26.
